Rejuvenation of Face and Neck with Ultherapy
What is Ultherapy Technology?
Ultherapy technology is a treatment procedure intended for tightening and lifting the skin by stimulating collagen production through heat increases at certain points, which are created using ultrasound-waves in the supporting tissues at deeper layers of the skin.
Face and Neck Lift With Ultherapy in a Single Session
- More collagen production
- Strengthened connective tissues
- A tighter skin
- A noticeable decrease in wrinkles
Although there are technologies similar to this treatment procedure; only the FDA-approved Ulthera technology makes it possible to intervene in just the desired tissues at two different layers in a sensitive manner, by means of ultrasound imaging that allows the practitioner to see the site being treated.
With Ultherapy, nonsurgical recovery and rejuvenation is provided in jowl area, cheeks, areas around the mouth, facial contour, jaw line, eyebrow, forehead, cleavage area and crow's foot, where flabbiness and wrinkles are observed due to loss of skin firmness.
In this treatment procedure carried out with the Ulthera device, the sound waves that provide thermal energy are focused on the depths of the target tissue, and the thermal effect is created only on the supporting connective tissue under the skin, without damaging the top layers of the skin.
With Ultherapy, known as the non-surgical skin tightening procedure, loose and saggy skin caused by the collagen deficiency and the force of gravity in the course of time, can be treated in a single 30-60 minutes session.
How is Ultherapy Performed?
During Ultherapy, the application headpiece of the Ulthera device that has ultrasound function is touched to the skin, so that the deeper layers of the skin are viewed, and then in company with the obtained images, collagen-stimulating microscopic heat damages are created by delivering sound-waves focused on the supporting connective tissues at depths of 3 mm and 4.5 mm. In the period following the application, a strong tightening effect occurs in consequence of the new collagen production in the supportive tissues of the skin.
How Long Does Ultherapy Take?
Application time of Ultherapy varies depending on the target area. An application intended for only the areas around the eye takes 15 to 20 minutes, whereas an application targeting the entire face and the neck takes up to 1 hour. A single session of Ultherapy is adequate for achieving the desired result.
In What Areas is Ultherapy Effective?
Nonsurgical skin rejuvenation with Ulthera is applied to the cheeks of our patients with the problems of facial wrinkles and sagging jawline; to the neck for eliminate sagging skin in the jowl region; to the eyebrow-forehead area for lifting the eyebrows; to the area around and under the eyes for reducing wrinkles; and to the cleavage areas for correcting wrinkles.
What Will I Feel During the Procedure?
During the procedure, usually a sensation of a momentary pricking or electrification is felt, intensity of which varies from person to person. Depending on demands of our patients, it is possible to completely eliminate the pain sensation by means of local anesthesia. Initially, Ultherapy practices involved higher levels of energy use and less number of applications, but since today's practices involve lower levels of energy use and higher number of applications, a significant reduction can be achieved in the levels of the pain felt during process; and on the other hand, sedation previously preferred in certain conditions is no longer needed.
What Should I Expect to See After the Procedure?
Immediately after the procedure, the person can return back to his/her everyday life. There is nothing that the person should be careful about. After Ultherapy, no burns, spots etc. occur on the skin. Although a slight redness may appear on some skins, the appearance returns to normal in a short time (1 hour).
Can Ultherapy Be Performed in Summer Months?
Since Ultherapy does not cause any unfavorable effect when applied to the skin’s surface, this treatment procedure can be safely administered in the summer months, contrary to many other intervention procedures intended for aesthetic purposes.
What Is the Difference of Ultrasonic Facial Rejuvenation From Other Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Procedures?
Ultherapy is the only procedure using focused ultrasound technology, which is effective on deep tissues without surgical intervention. With just a single session of Ultherapy, highly satisfactory results can be achieved on the skin.
It is not possible to tighten the skin with only intervening in its surface. Viewing the skin layers during the procedure is of great importance in terms of being able to carry out the process at the right levels by reaching the deep layers. This precise application provided through the Ulthera device cannot be provided with other procedures carried out for the same purpose. The objective of the procedure is to reduce the layer—surgically removed in face lifting operations—without surgical intervention, and tighten the skin by stimulating the collagen production.
Is Ultherapy a Safe Procedure?
Ultrasound energy has been used in the field of medicine for over 50 years and has been proven to be free of side effects. Ulthera is an FDA-approved device.
When Can I See Ulthera's Results?
The rejuvenation process begins immediately after a single session, and a tightening effect is observed from the first moment. After the procedure, the skin begins to look more perfect with each passing day. After 1 week, you feel the difference in your skin. And after a month, the effects become fully noticeable. At the end of the third month, the desired result begins to be observed. Getting the complete result takes approximately 6 months. Since Ultherapy stimulates the collagen production in the skin, results obtained are long-lasting. Ultherapy’s visible and invisible effects on the skin, as well as their appearance time and permanency may significantly vary from person to person, depending on the skin's structure, its response to the thermal stimulation, the patient's age, and whether there is excess skin.
Am I a Suitable Candidate for Ultherapy?
All individuals who have loosening and sagging in their face, neck and cleavage are among the eligible candidates. Since the loss of collagen and loosening become gradually more noticeable between 40 and 60 years of age in particular, more obvious visual results can be achieved in this age group; whereas the collagen production increases as the procedure is carried out at earlier ages.
